Why Photography?

Since I was very young I always seemed to be fascinated by pictures. Family pictures, encyclopedias, whatever. There was something magical about it to me. The ability to freeze time and capture a moment forever was pretty damn cool for a 6 year old.

As I got older my interest turned to music. KISS to be specific. The promo pics and live shots were always larger than life, and the costumes just added to it. I started buying music magazines like Circus and Hit Parader, cut out pictures and plastered them on my wall. “One of these days I'll be onstage, and on some kid's wall,” I used to think to myself while flipping through magazines.

Enter puberty and my exposure to adult content. Playboy and Penthouse changed everything as far as my interests were concerned. Women were now the focus. Of course there was an arousal aspect to me looking at these magazines, but the beauty of the photos themselves was interesting as well. The poses, the energy that you could feel through a photo, the lighting. I didn’t realize how much I studied that stuff at the time.

Fast forward to adulthood. Military service ended in 1992 and I started working as a DJ in strip clubs. Day to day exposure to beautiful women was exactly what I wanted. I worked with a few adult film stars and I inquired about getting into the business of producing. Worked as a distributor for an adult studio for awhile and was able to watch a photoshoot. Hmmmm...I can do this.

After a divorce and 2 very bad relationships, I met my wife Melody, and my path changed for the better. She makes jewelry (www.wolfsongjewelry.com), and she's a dreamer like I am...perfect match. My friend Titus, and Instagram were gamechangers as well. I loved his photography, and the beautiful models that he had, who were all friends of his. I started following sexy Instagram models, and was lucky enough to befriend a few models that I worked with.

Hello Covid-19!! The club we worked at closed for quarantine in March 2020. Rough time. I picked up a used Canon T3 to play around with. Took a few shots of my wife, and that was it. I was hooked. I started watching Youtube videos, and bugging other photogs for information, relentlessly. Finally I enrolled in a few online courses and got up the guts to shoot someone besides my wife. Reached out to a few of our dancer friends and started shooting,  Thousands of pictures and 4 cameras later I'm here. Published twice, and trying to get better and learn more every day.
